Emergency Assistance Indemnity Agreement

The NBTA has developed an indemnity document for use by members when calling on assistance, or when called on to assist by other members in an emergency. The document sets out the services offered and the agreement to supply and received such services. Its aim is to provide a clear understanding of the expectations and responsbilties of both parties.

It is a voluntary agreement and one that requires the execution by both parties for it to come into force. It does not replace the need for companies to have an emergency response plan nor to maintain an emergency response capability. A copy of the emergency assistance indemnity agreement can be downloaded from here.

Companies that have agreed to partipate in the emergency assistance scheme include:

  • FBT Operations
  • HBL Chemtrans
  • Transwest Haulage
  • Cootes Holdings
  • Millers Transport

A number of other members are also considering joining this scheme. Any enquiries should be directed to the Executive Director, Rob Perkins on 03 9818 7899 or
