Working at Heights Workshop

Held on 10th April 2002 at Moonee Valley, Melbourne

The NBTA Working at Heights Workshop had exactly 100 attendees on the 10th April. Representing 55 companies, the Workshop covered:

  • Formal presentations on the new regulations, what they mean for tanker operators and customers
  • Risk assessment processes that companies can use to assess their own businesses and formulate a plan to meet the requirements of the regulations
  • Displays of tanker equipment and a walk through demonstration of this gear as well as lunch in this area

The Outcomes

A report on the Workshop will be posted here early in the week commencing 15th April. Key outcomes were:

  • The proposed regulations have yet to be enacted. September is the current proposed date
  • Irregardless of the proposed regulations, WorkSafe inspectors are enforcing safety issues using their powers under the WorkCover Act
  • Companies should not be wating for September to assess their operations!
