Next meetings - 5th August, 19th August, 2nd September and 20th October

Our next three meetings are:

WorkSafe VDGT issues meeting
Thursday 5th August, 10am to 1pm at VTA, Wirraway Drive, Fishermans Bend
WorkSafe Victoria has agreed to meet with NBTA and discuss the outstanding issues with the VDGT registration process
If you have outstanding issues with barrel certification then come along and we will discuss the rules and then have time to go over specifics for each company.

Safety and Training meeting
Thursday 19th August from 11am to 1pm at VTA, Wirraway Drive, Fishermans Bend
The agenda will include a consolidation of the emergency response agenda and design of the 20th October Emergency Response Day

Quarterly meeting
Thursday 2nd September, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm
Metropolitan Fire Brigade, 450 Burnley Street Richmond
Hosted by MFB, we will be briefed on how incident commanders handle an incident and the role that our companies play at emergency scenes. Other agenda items include emergency response, worksafe issues, industrial relations and the agenda for the 20th October emergency response day

Emergency response - sharing lessons and improving outcomes
Wednesday 20th October from 9am to 4pm at Melbourne Tennis Centre
A joint hosted AFAC / NBTA event, it will cover:

Lessons from recent incidents

Showcasing recent initiatives in TERPS training, emergency response and clean up activities

Current regulations and laws and the opportunities for improvement

Examples of best practice in the field of emergency response including work methods, safety programs, training, remediation, as well as new technologies

The audience is emergency responders (AFAC members, competent authorities, professional responders) as well as transport operators, product owners, oil companies, equipment manufacturers (many of whom are NBTA members) and industry professionals including the insurance sector. Registration for this one day event will open soon and a separate notice will be put out to members

Friday 5th March meeting in Sydney

Not content with one golf course, our 5th March schedule is:

There will be no on-the-day entries so get organised to avoid missing the cut!

Quarterly meeting at Randwick Golf Club, Howe Street Malabar 12.30pm sandwich for 1.30pm meeting. Finish by 4.30pm

For reasons "beyond my control" we are meeting at Randwick Golf Club, Howe Crescent Malabar, which is 4km closer to the city off Anzac Parade.

The December meeting approved the Meeting schedule for 2010 pdf.

Our first gathering will be the Safety and Training Group on the 25th February followed by the general meeting (and golf) in Sydney on the 5th March.

4th December meeting and dinner

Put it in your diary for Friday 4th December meeting commencing at 12.30pm for a sandwich lunch in the Board Room at the VTA, Wirraway Drive in Fishermans Bend and continuing with the quarterly meeting

NBTA / AFAC Emergency Response Day

The NBTA in conjunction with AFAC held an emergency response day to discuss and advance thinking on a national emergency response agenda. Attached are papers from that day:
