NBTA meeting - 5th December from 1pm at VTA, Port Melbourne

Our AGM and Quarterly meeting will be held on Friday 5th December from 1pm to 4.30pm at the VTA, Wirraway Drive, Fishermans Bend. This meeting will include:

1pm sandwich lunch for those that are hungry (let me know)
AGM at 1.45pm

The Quarterly Meeting from 2.15pm including:

Fatigue: who is doing it well and what are the systems that help?
Emergency response: the issues and developments
Safety and Training Committee: a report after two meetings
ADG7 issues: SCBA, rest areas and the rest
A range of other DG related issues across driver inductions, industrial relations, tunnels and more

The meeting will be followed by the annual NBTA Dinner (if you are not already booked then its too late folks!) from 7pm at the State Library of Victoria

NBTA 4th September meeting at ARRB

NBTA's next quarterly meeting is on Thursday 4th September at ARRB, 500 Burwood Highway, Vermont South, Melbourne

The meeting will be run in two parts:

NBTA Safety Committee
11am to 1pm, ARRB

This group to consist of OH&S, safety and training focused personnel from member companies. It will establish its own agenda and this is its inaugural meeting. Members are invited to nominate one or more representatives from their companies to attend this two hour session. A separate agenda will be issued to attendees

NBTA Quarterly Meeting
1.45pm to 4.45pm.
Featuring:

Emergency response WA style
DG's in tunnels: signage and commodities to change?
IR survey: the results
Rest areas: what are the rules for DG's?
Fatigue: State by State update
Driver traineeship: update
Driver inductions at terminals:concerns with delays
Driver blockade: the lessons
ARRB research program: tyres, simulators and PBS

Our usual sandwich lunch will be served from 1pm and this will allow Safety Committee and NBTA attendees to meet and share a sandwich and the outcomes of the Safety meeting

NBTA Golf Challenge - new champions and some classic shots

The weather was kinder this year and the five groups played to win. Sadly there is only one winner (of the trophy) and that goes to Ron Edmonds, Phil Craker, Glenn Hambelton and Robert Douglas. Everyone won by playing a round of one of Australia's best golf courses.

NBTA 6th June Sydney meeting and golf - NSW Golf Club, LaPerouse

Friday 6th June is the next NBTA meeting with the:

NBTA Golf Challenge starting at 7.45am
Sandwich lunch at the bar from 1pm
formal meeting from 2pm to 5pm

Golfers need to fill out the Golf registration form and fax back to Rob Perkins before 2nd June to secure a place - details are on the form

Heavy vehicle fatigue implementation
Industrial relations NSW issues and IR survey
Emergency response: a range of initiatives covering competencies, ADG7 and the national perspective
Driver traineeships and their launch last month
Safety and training committee launch
AIP issues
NSW HML access issues
Tank registration issues
