Formed in 1984, the National Bulk Tanker Association Inc. is the peak national body for the bulk tanker industry. Our membership comprises operators who specialise in carrying bulk liquids both dangerous goods and non-DG products. Our members include companies and organisations involved in the manufacture, storage and distribution of liquid bulk products. Our members have a strong involvement in the dangerous and hazardous good sector and our focus is the continual improvement of safety, productivity and sustainability of our sector.

The ourpose of the Association is to inspire all participants in the bulk tanker industry to achieve world class safety, productivity, compliance and environmental outcomes. The Association does this by undertaking a number of activities, including:

·       Encouraging the connectivity of the bulk tanker industry through engaging in meetings and exchanges

·       Promoting the sharing of knowledge amongst members and the broader community, particularly in relation to safety, productivity, compliance and environmental issues

·       Taking an active position on issues to do with improved safety and compliance outcomes

·       Engaging with regulators, policy makers and the enforcement community on issues of relevance to the bulk tanker industry.

The NBTA serves its members by sharing learnings and leading the discussion and development of new solutions to improve outcomes in the following areas:

  • National Audits, rehabilitation and other OH&S issues.​
